Today is the day we have all been waiting for. Non-stop twisty roads through some spectacular mountain ranges in perfect weather.
We left Mineral del Monte at 8:30am and were immediately greeted by some great roads. The morning ride was a bit strange ... the streets/roads in towns were empty!? It felt like a neutron bomb had taken out the people ... stores closes, no cars or buses or trucks on the streets, no people. This is how dependent we have become on gasoline. The State of Hidalgo has literally run out of gasoline.
By now, we are wondering if we are going to make it through the steep and remote mountains with what we had.
These great roads took us up to 8,500ft and back down to 500ft with interminable curves. Charles was having fun scraping pegs and we all got rid of our tire chicken-strips. What a day! A long day that required non-stop 100% concentration ... lots of fun ... but we are all exhausted.
Had a nice dinner in Ciudad Valles ... crepes, hot cakes, eggs, tacos and espressos. Tomorrow is the end of our 2019 Mexican Adventure.
