After loading our motorcycles, and a quick Starbucks stop, we left Dallas early today for the 10 hour drive to McAllen, Texas. The drive was completely uneventful ... except for Richard and Charles who managed to run out of gas around San Antonio. I guess the decided to start testing their survival skills early while still in friendly territory : )
We connected with John who was already in Corpus Christy and crossed the border together. The crossing was amazing: no lines, clean, nice people on both sides, quick customs and immigration paperwork ... and on we were to our hotel in Reynosa ... very different from the chaos of Laredo.
Jazmin, our contact at the hotel was there waiting for us, letting us know where we should leave the trucks, park our bikes, were to go eat dinner, and introducing us to the staff. It is nice to be in Mexico! Thanks to Jazmin, Berna, and Alejandro.
After a nice Mexican dinner across the street, a visit to the adjacent mall to get a cappuccino, some cash, and some water ... we were done for the day.
Tomorrow, we go deep and begin our motorcycle adventure into a part of Mexico that we have never ridden before!
